Enhance your experience by signing up for the 2024 Congress Pre-Tour
Pre-Tour Package
The IGCA Congress offers three (3) different tour formats for delegates to choose from. The itinerary for all formats is virtually the same, but the level of interaction is the main difference between them. Your tour option choice must be made PRIOR to Congress at the time of booking.
Tour Options
Option 1: Interactive Tour - The interactive tour expands on the popular study tour of the past - but all ages can participate. Your bus will have a mix of countries, with delegates eager to participate in discussions and gain the most out of their experience. You will be sent some information prior to the congress to help you prepare for the discussion topics. Discussions on the interactive tour will be in English.
Option 2: Next Generation Study Tour (includes a "Meet & Greet Activity" on the Sunday afternoon)
This tour is only open to delegates between the ages of 18-40. It is a learning experience to encourage the younger generation into the garden retail industry and to connect new networks and contacts from delegates all around the world. Active participation is essential.
Option 3: Non-Interactive Tour - This is a leisure tour where no formal engagement or discussions are organized for buses. It typically will include a range of delegates from different countries and is open to all groups.
Daily Business Sessions
Mornings, throughout the week. These optional sessions will take place after breakfast, before the tour leaves (example time: 8:00 am - 8:45 am). They will include special presenters to talk about trends in Canada & around the world.
Tourism Experiences
Delegates will be treated to a visit to the Montréal Botanical Garden, an oasis in the middle of the city for over 80 years, recognized as one of the largest and most beautiful in the world. Looking for some traditional Québecois food, music and dancing? Join us at the Sugar Shack! For some true Canadian nature, delegates will visit Montmorency Falls - at 83 meters (272 ft.) it’s 30 meters (nearly 100 ft.) higher than Niagara Falls!
Garden Centres
During the 2024 Congress, we will take you to some of the best garden centres in Québec. Brand new large centres, like Archipel, and smaller family-run centres. From restaurants and cafes to pet shops and display gardens, we will show you a large variety of garden centres - all with a main focus on quality plants!
